WHO WE ARE

Located in Shawnee, Oklahoma

Dunbar Heights, Oklahoma is a historic community

rooted in resilience and rich cultural legacy. Once a thriving Black neighborhood, it continues to serve as a beacon of pride, unity, and grassroots leadership. Today, Dunbar Heights is undergoing a revival—led by local residents focused on community beautification, youth empowerment, and access to resources that honor its past while building a more vibrant and equitable future.

Dunbar Heights Community Group is a non-profit organization. We are rooted in the intertwined histories of Black American and Native American communities in Oklahoma. Our initiatives are driven by a shared commitment to positive change.
